Yes I'm a stay at home mom of teenagers!!

My life as a Stay at Home Mom

Well it’s the day before the election and I have to say that I am very excited. This election will be historic no matter who wins. I am glad to actually be an American and participate in this process. That’s what makes USA such a great country even with the major hiccups going on now.

I never really decided to be a stay at home mom, it kind of happened to me when I started having severe panic attacks 10 years ago, coupled with depression I could not get myself out of bed to work. My life was in a tailspin. I did get that part of my life under control, but now 10 years later it’s very hard to get back into the workforce with no recent work history. Now my children are teenagers and I can’t really call myself a stay at home mom anymore. I am just an unemployed used to be stay at home mom.

So now I find myself on the internet daily looking for employment. It gets discouraging, but I refuse to give up. My husband and I would like to buy a home and the housing market is perfect to buy one, but in order for us to have extra spending money I need to find employment.

So I started applying to internet home based jobs and have gotten quite a few responses, but the lack of recent work experience is a serious set-back. I am not worried though because I know it will happen eventually.

So other than writing today, I am trying to winterize my apartment for this winter. It is predicted that it is going to be a very cold and snowy winter in New England this year. So it’s about time to batten down the hatches so-to-speak.

Tonight one of my favorite shows is on. Prison Break. I just love that show and of course Football Redskins Vs Pittsburgh. I have a bet going with my husband over who will win. I am routing for the redskins and of course he Pittsburgh. The bet is I have to do the dishes for a week if I lose. Wish me luck :0)
